After forgetting about the tickets, Doe checked them recently on MichiganLottery.com and was stunned by what she saw. One ticket matched a $100 prize, and the second — numbered 065230 — was a $100,000 winner in the Nov. 19 drawing.
“At first we didn’t believe it,” Doe said, recalling how she and her husband first tried checking the ticket at the store. It wasn’t until they had it verified at a Michigan Lottery office that the reality of the prize sank in.
Doe recently visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to officially claim her prize. She said she plans to use part of the winnings for home renovations and to save the rest for the future.
The Super Raffle is one of the Lottery’s special games that features a range of prizes, including a top prize of $6 million, two $1 million prizes and multiple six-figure awards, such as the one Doe claimed.
Lottery officials encourage players to check their tickets regularly and to claim prizes promptly. They also remind winners to verify their ticket’s authenticity at official Lottery outlets.
